Evangelization, information and prayer A few words to express to you and to the others at ACN, how much your Mirrors are themselves evangelisation! The words of Father Alliende are both “information” and a “source of prayer in oration!” The extreme and confidant hope of the Blessed John-Paul II, supported by the folly of love in the Curé of Ars and Teresa of the Andes, stimulate us to take part in ACN’s work, and to “dig into our budgets,” after having received in our hearts, inspiration from the Holy Spirit... Your Mirrors “draw tears,” ... and, I am grateful for the blessing at the end of Father Alliende’s letter. A 93-year-old grandmother from Canada ******** |

From children to children A few days go, I was able to send you a donation of €189, raised by the children in our kindergarten, who sold lots of colourful pumpkins, squashes and corn cobs to pay for Child’s Bibles for poor children. We are delighted that 54 children will now receive a Child’s Bible and so learn about Jesus. The sisters and children of a kindergarten in Austria ******** |

In thanksgiving I thank God for you, for the wonderful work you do around the world. I would like to donate three hundred dollars (cheque enclosed), two hundred dollars for your most pressing needs and the other hundred to fellow priests (in need) to say Holy Mass for my parents and brothers who have died. God has blessed me in so many ways yet I have not always done my best for Him and his Church. I am happy that sometimes I am able to help Aid to the Church in Need. With fervent thanks to Jesus who always gives us the motivation and purpose to continue to work for Him.

More work for me, more money for ACN Not enough doctors meant for me there was an awful lot of work in 2010 – so an awful lot of money! So, I’m sure you can use it. A hardworking doctor in Canada

A reading marathon for Sudan Our school has organised a reading marathon and raised a total of £835,15. We would like to use the money to help children in Sudan, so that they can attend a Catholic school there. Our children were very excited at the idea that just £25 is enough for one child. So our objective was to support an entire class of 30 children. In fact we even managed to exceed this target. The children of St Joseph’s primary school in England

No car, no Sacraments
Dear brothers and sisters at ACN! Enclosed is a cheque for $200 for transportation needs. I have been to many of the countries you write about, China, Poland, Ukraine… in Ukraine, I personally know a priest whom you have assisted by purchasing a car for him. There is no way he could minister to the people without it! The village and the country roads in Ukraine are in very bad shape and frightening to travel on in rainy weather! I witnessed it, first hand, three summers ago! I am convinced we must do all we can to give the missionaries the tools they need to get the people, and I ask that you use this money for transportation. May God bless you in all you do!

I have decided to make my Lenten donation this year to help in your work. Please find attached a cheque for $120. A benefactress from Ontario, Canada

Help for the formation of priests
This is in the nature of a one-time gift. However, I hope I shall be able to donate again next year. With the death of my wife – we were married nearly 56 years – I have sold our house and this is a part of that money, which can help persecuted and poor Christians around the world. Our oldest son, Joseph, entered the Society of Jesus 30 years ago and was ordained without any financial burden to us. Now, perhaps I can help with the education of priests in places where the cost of education is beyond the reach of many parents.

The priests need us I wish I could send much more to help your wonderful work. Especially now that our dear Holy Father has declared the Year for Priests. They surely do need our help and prayer that I can and do offer daily. May God bless you all at ACN
